Wearing Yellow on A Date

blog post-7.17.14 wearing yellowIn our new ebook, which features dating advice for women that will actually get you dates, one subject that’s covered in detail is the impact of color you wear on your first date.

Today’s topic is all about the color yellow!

Now according to experts, yellow is one of the worst colors you can wear on a date if you’re a woman.  Yellow has a unique impact on people because it’s either good or bad.  And this impact all depends upon the other person’s perception, mood, and state of mind how they view you in yellow.

That’s a lot of power for one color!

However I’m kind of on the fence about this one.  I think yellow can be a fabulous color to wear if you have the sparkling personality to wear such a vibrant color.

Here are some fun facts about yellow you want to keep in mind if you plan on wearing it for your next date:

  • Yellow is eye-catching
  • Yellow can increase metabolism
  • Yellow can make people nervous
  • Too much yellow can cause depression
  • Yellow can evoke feelings of anger or frustration
  • Yellow is usually seen as a warm and cheery color
  • Yellow fatigues the human eye faster than any other color

I hope this gave you a bit more perspective about how or if to wear yellow on a date.

Oh, and I found some awesome articles online about yellow.

Wearing Orange on A Date

wearing orange on a date-7.16.14Orange is an exciting warm color that draws attention!

It’s not as flagrant as red and not as nervous as yellow, so it offer a great balance of energy, vibrancy and approachability.  In our new e-book that features excellent dating advice for women, we cover the powerful impact of orange–along with other colors–and how to wear them for your first date!

Here are some easy tips to get you started for when (or if) you wear orange on a date:

  • Do monochromatic orange…at your own risk
  • Pair orange with white denim for a great summer look
  • Add orange in your accessories for a fresh “pop” of color
  • Pair orange with yellow for a youthful and fresh appearance
  • Keep the shapes simple if you wear orange–think sheath dress or a-line skirt
  • Wear orange layered underneath a cropped denim jacket for a polished casual look
  • Avoid pairing it with black as this looks too costume-y and like your dressing for Halloween

Here are some great articles I’ve found online about wearing orange as well.

So how do you feel about wearing orange?

Do you love it or loathe it?

Wearing Red On A Date

wearing red on a date 1Frustrated, confused and ready to pull her hair out, Janet went through the pile of red blouses, red dresses, and red skirts she’d piled on her bed. In some style magazine she had seen the gleaming piece of insight that red was the best color to wear on a date. With that little bit of knowledge, she literally ran with the idea.

The only problem was, she didn’t really like red, didn’t know what shade worked best for her, and was terrified of looking bad at the end.

Does this sound like you?

Do you struggle to often find the right thing to wear for a first date?

Well the stories are true. Red is a fabulous color to wear on a first date! But if you don’t know what you’re doing, this can totally backfire on you. You’ll end up looking like an out of place ‘Stop’ sign rather than the dazzling diva you are. Follow these expert style tips on how to successfully wear read on a date.

Pick a shade that compliments your personality: Red is one of the three primary colors. No matter what shade (red+black) or tone (red + white) you choose to wear red in, it will make a statement. True red is a color that’s for the woman with dynamic boldness in her own person as well as in her sexuality. There have also been professional studies done at the University of South Brittany in France stating that red sends the signal to men that you’re looking for sex.

Wear true red with caution ladies. Here are some other options of wearing red, and what they mean:

  • Maroon: a dark bluish red, it denotes controlled and more thoughtful action. It is slightly softer than burgundy and not as dramatic as true red.
  • Burgundy: a dark purplish red, it is more sophisticated and serious and less energetic than true red. It indicates controlled power, determined ambition and dignified action and is often favored by the wealthy.
  • Crimson: has a little blue in it. It indicates a determination to succeed but without upsetting anyone else. It emits sensuality rather than sexuality.
  • Scarlet: has a little orange mixed with it, giving it a richness and brightness. It indicates enthusiasm and a love of life. It is a little less intense and more fun-loving than true red, tempered with a degree of defiance.

Choose a shade that fits the mood: The color you wear should also be appropriate for the occasion. For instance, wearing c bold cherry red to a tragic play may be a little overkill. Before you spend hours looking for the right shade of red to wear, be sure you know the color you pick will be appropriate for your date.

Wear the shade you’re comfortable in: This is the most important one of all…you should only wear shades of red (of any color actually!) which you feel comfortable and confident in. If you pick a color that’s too bold or bright for your personal comfort level, you’ll be agitated and nervous throughout your whole date! Take my advice, only wear shades you’re totally comfortable wearing.

That’s all you have to do, now go to your closet and get fabulous for your first date!
